Purpose of the Board:

• to provide guidance to M-M-I F.C.S.S to operate under and within the framework and mandate of the FCSS act, regulation, and agreement.

The role of the F.C.S.S Board:

• to act in an advisory capacity to the F.C.S.S Director and staff in relation to the development and implementation of FCSS programs, projects, and services. 

• to report to their municipal councils on FCSS programs, projects, and services. 

• to contribute to the identification of community social needs and the setting of priorities to be addressed. 

• to provide current knowledge and critical thinking to actively contribute to the goals and outcomes of FCSS. 

• to promote and participate in FCSS programs, projects, and services. 

• to attend Board meetings once every second month on the second Tuesday at 9:00am. 

• to attend the East Central FCSS Regional meeting in the spring and fall of each year.

F.C.S.S. Board consists of:

• three voting members, one Elected official from each community 

• one community member-at-large from Mannville who fills the role of Chairperson and signing authority for the M-M-I F.C.S.S banking

• one representative from each of the local schools; Mannville School and Delnorte School

• one Alberta Health Representative; typically the volunteer coordinator

• one senior citizen 

• one youth representative 

• Director of the M-M-I F.C.S.S/YCSS/FRN

• FCSS program coordinator 

• Volunteers

• F.C.S.S./Y.C.S.S. Director is accountable to F.C.S.S./Y.C.S.S. Board who is accountable to the Unit Authority who is accountable to the Municipalities who are accountable to the Province.

• Administration is handled by the F.C.S.S. office

• Coordination is handled by Board/Director

• Citizen participation is at the project level
