Rural Mental Health Network
M-M-I FCSS is the backbone for Mannville's
Rural Mental Health Animator- Jannette Riedel.
Coordinated by CMHA Alberta and the Centre for Suicide Prevention, the Rural Mental Health Network supports Community Animators across Alberta to lead local conversations and action. Through training, peer learning, funding, and collaboration, the Network supports upstream, community-led mental health transformation.

Creative Connections:
Wellness Through Creativity, Culture, & Community
The goal of our Rural Mental Health Animator Community Project- Creative Connections, is to strengthen mental wellness, reduce isolation, and support early intervention in rural communities through a structured, trauma-informed program grounded in creativity, reflection, nature, culture, connection, movement, storytelling, and community belonging. The program provides accessible, non-clinical opportunities for residents to build resilience, develop coping skills, strengthen social connections, and explore personal wellbeing through creative and experiential learning. This project follows a developmental wellness pathway:
Self-Awareness & Reflection → Connection & Relationships → Nature-Based Grounding → Emotional Expression → Storytelling → Visible Mending & Repair → Beauty & Joy → Music & Rhythm → Creative Food & Self-Worth → Culture, Identity & Belonging.
